The Last Daily Object Never Reinvented
We didn’t create Ori to improve the umbrella, we created it to redefine what a personal object can be.
A frameless, rib-less, precision engineered device built on the same principles that shape aerospace origami, advanced robotics, and next generation materials.
Every year, more than 1.2 billion umbrellas snap, tear, and end up in landfills.
A design that has failed for generations.
So we asked a different question:
What if the canopy itself became the structure?
Ori is the result of a team of world class origami experts and MIT trained engineers who spent years studying deployment systems used in aerospace, architecture, and robotics.
By combining composite materials, a tension-locking structure, and Miura-Ori compression, we transformed a full size 1 meter canopy into a 3 cm cylinder without sacrificing strength, durability, or elegance.
This is not an umbrella.
It is a new form of technology, a breakthrough in how objects fold, move, and adapt.
Ori embodies our belief that everyday essentials can be engineered to be smarter, smaller, stronger, and designed with true purpose.
A future where innovation fits in your hand and engineering becomes art.
This is just the beginning.
The future of folding technology starts here.
